A tool for the analysis of particle size and shape (Malvern Morphologi G3SE), a microscope for materials analysis (Leica DM4000V) and a Powderflow kit for powder flow measurement. These are the new instruments introduced in CI-ESSE’s metallurgical and metallographic lab. The quality control of raw materials used in the additive process is one of the issue CI-ESSE is focusing its attention on as a key element for the quality of the final product. Along with the metallurgical lab, CI-ESSE is implementing a software that registers, for each powder batch, the results of analyses (granulometric, morphologic, chemical), in order to generate systems for the univocal identification of the batch itself. The obejective is the total treaceability of powders.
